Governed AI for institutional knowledge

Turn trusted knowledge into answers people can verify.

One living evidence object transforms as you scroll—from approved sources to a cited answer or a visible abstention.

Nothing autoplays · The evidence transformation follows your scroll

Governed AI for institutional knowledge

Turn trusted knowledge into answers people can verify.

Follow the same source-to-evidence path in a motion-free format.

  1. 01 / Sources

Begin with knowledge your institution approves.

Books, policies, manuals, transcripts and archives enter as rights-reviewed source records.

  2. 02 / Versions

Turn reviewed material into stable evidence.

The same source particles reorganise into deterministic passages with exact typed locators.

  3. 03 / Publication

Freeze one approved state of knowledge.

Passages form one immutable snapshot. The sculpture stops while publication is sealed.

  4. 04 / Retrieval

Search only what this person may reach.

A question searches the permitted snapshot and ranked candidate groups rise from the same evidence object.

  5. 05 / Evidence

Return exact support—or withhold the answer.

The qualifying passage moves into a cited result. When nothing qualifies, Setu returns a visible abstention.

Why Setu

A governed answer layer

Your knowledge deserves more than an ungoverned chatbot.

Institutions already hold valuable policies, manuals, courses, publications and archives. The challenge is making that knowledge usable without losing authority, context or accountability.1

Preserve authority

Your institution decides which sources and versions are approved.

Make trust inspectable

Every supported response can open the passage behind it.

Expand access carefully

Share governed knowledge without presenting software as the author.

02

Product

Working surfaces, not concept art

One controlled path from publication to answer.

Setu is built for institutions that own or steward knowledge. Administrators govern access and publication; knowledge teams review sources and evaluation cases; members and invited audiences receive cited answers.

What is this collection designed to explain?

Validated response

This collection explains how approved knowledge becomes an answer that remains connected to its evidence.

Solutions

Generic by design

For knowledge that must keep its authority.

Setu is not tied to a book, personality or tradition. It operates around reviewed knowledge spaces, published source versions and the permissions of the people using them.

01

Policies & operations

Make approved policies and manuals answerable without severing the source.

Procedure · entitlement · exception · evidence
02

Learning & research

Help learners and researchers inspect the passage behind each explanation.

Course · publication · archive · citation
03

Archives & publications

Open reviewed collections through page- or section-level evidence.

Book · edition · transcript · locator
04

Controlled public knowledge

Share one approved snapshot through a revocable, time-bound pilot link.

Bounded link · disclosed retention · audit

How it works

Simple to use · explicit underneath

Ask naturally. Govern deliberately.

See the same product path in plain language or at a safe technical level. The public explanation stops short of proprietary prompts, tuning and infrastructure details.

Security & governance

Designed for controlled institutional pilots.

Control is part of the answer path—from who can publish, to which snapshot can be searched, to what an auditor may inspect.

01

Deny by default

Roles and permissions resolve at platform, organization and knowledge-space level before an action begins.

02

Versions do not drift

Published snapshots pin exact reviewed source versions, so later uploads cannot rewrite an earlier evidence path.

03

Citations remain server-owned

Evidence handles are resolved by the service; model output cannot create a trusted source record.

04

External processing is approval-gated

Embedding and generation remain disabled by default for a snapshot until the required processing approval exists.

05

Audit access stays bounded

Authorized readers see scoped governance metadata without routine exposure of source text, questions or answers.

06

Public pilots stay controllable

Experience links are snapshot-bound, expiring, revocable and retention-disclosed before a visitor asks.

Current implementation boundary: local closed-pilot controls are functional. Production identity, durable public operations, processor review and deployment hardening remain release gates—not marketing claims.

05

Working proof

See the answer contract in action

Ask it yourself. Then open the evidence.

This is a functioning synthetic interaction, not a prerecorded success state. Ask the unsupported astronomy question and Setu will return an actual citation-free abstention.

Synthetic demonstration

Not connected to a real collection. No live model is required for the prepared response.

Try the grounded interaction

Ask. Check. Open the passage.

This first build uses copyright-safe synthetic content. It proves the contract before a rights-cleared knowledge snapshot is published.

Synthetic sample ready. No live model is being called.

Answer to: “What is Setu designed to do?”

Setu is designed to give concise answers that stay visibly connected to cited evidence.

Start with the right boundaries

A credible pilot begins before the first question.

These practical guides describe what is available now, what an institution needs to prepare and how a real evaluation should be designed.

Pilot readiness

Prepare one bounded knowledge space

Start with rights-cleared sources, a named administrator, a knowledge manager, qualified reviewers and real pilot questions.

Evaluation approach

Measure support, not fluency alone

Plan independent review of retrieval, exact quotations, claim support, abstention and usefulness against one snapshot.

Publish reviewed material only

The current pilot supports reviewed UTF-8 text and human-reviewed, page-preserving PDF OCR—not autonomous capture.

Questions worth asking

Before you bring knowledge into Setu.

Who is Setu for?

Institutions that own or steward knowledge and need a governed way to publish, search and verify it. Setu is currently a closed adult pilot, not a consumer signup product.

What happens when evidence is insufficient?

Setu withholds the unsupported answer and returns zero citations. Abstention is a designed product outcome, not a hidden error.

Does every response require a generative model?

No. The current system can return deterministic source-based answers, a source-based fallback, validated AI-assisted answers or an abstention.

What sources work today?

The current pilot supports reviewed UTF-8 text and human-reviewed, page-preserving PDF OCR. Autonomous crawling and media transcription are not implemented.

Can anyone create an account?

No. Organizations request access. Approved users receive assigned access after the organization, source readiness and identity boundary are reviewed.

How is external processing controlled?

External embedding and generation are disabled by default and require exact approval for a published snapshot before content may be sent to an approved processor.

Closed institutional pilot

Bring one approved knowledge space to Setu.

Start with a bounded collection, named reviewers and a real evaluation plan. We’ll help determine whether Setu is the right fit before broader rollout.
